“I’m so surprised, I don’t know what to say,” Raitt said as she accepted her award. “I don’t write a lot of songs but I’m so proud that you appreciate this one,” she added. “I’m totally humbled.” She also paid tribute to the late singer-songwriter John Prine.
“Just Like That” is the title track from Raitt’s latest full length, which was nominated for Best Americana Album this evening. Earlier in the day, Raitt won Best Americana Performance (“Made Up My Mind”) and Best American Roots Song (“Just Like That”). She also sang part of Fleetwood Mac’s “Songbird” during a tribute to Christine McVie, who died last year.
